“Art saves life”

“Art saves life” – mini exhibition, presenting works of my sister: Katarzyna Karpowicz and mine. It started on 2nd of March, 2012 and lasted a week. The exhibition was a part of an experimental art project „Una- Unus- Unum”, developed by curator Marcin Kowalik in an artistic cooperative with Foundation for Promoting Contemporary Art in Warsow.
Main theme of our project was “the mysterious power of life giving and life taking water”. Kasia showed chosen paintings from her amazing, well known to the public “Swimming pools” series. I made two compositions on paper, inspired by her works and a quote of David Herbert Lawrence from a poem entitled “The Third Thing”:

Water is H2O, hydrogen two parts, oxygen one,
but there is also a third thing, that makes it water
and nobody knows what it is.

“Art saves lifes”, but also makes people really tired sometimes. Yup, that is me, above my work on paper.

My sister, Katarzyna Karpowicz – above her and first from the left – her pictures. On the left and right from the door – my works on paper.

“Art saves life” – very crowded opening 😛

That looks like it was a nice show. That’s a beautiful piece on paper you did. Also, art often lays me flat on the ground too!

Thanks! Small show, but a very nice space. I brought this paper in 6 pieces. Putting it together was a challenge 🙂 as u can see…
